Our services range from researching provenance sources for an individual painting to an in-depth art historical research on your collection. Research results may include the publication of your private collection catalogue, a report on a particular painting or a catalogue for an exhibition.

Our research provides additional knowledge about works of art and can therefor be value enhancing.

The type and the depth of the research we offer our customers varies significantly. The nature of art-historical research is the unpredictability of the findings. We therefore split our services into three categories:

  • Basic Research (approx. 8 hours) This Basic Research report will include ideas on possible attributions, main iconographic issues and first findings of the provenance research. The report will also include suggestions for further research.
  • Further Research (approx. 40 hours) The topics addressed in the Basic Research report will be further analysed. A Further Research report will usually range between 10 to 15 pages and has a structure and layout that matches an article in an international art historical magazine.
  • In-depth Research (Several weeks to months) Our In-depth Research report generally contains studies of several paintings from a private collection or a dealers’ stock. The research results can be produced in several articles or in the form of a private catalogue.
You are kindly invited to contact us with any queries you might have regarding the paintings you own or are about to acquire.
