Research is primarily done by the  founders Ronald Bazuin and Bram de Blécourt who are both keen on continuously expanding their expertise. However, when necessary advice of other experts, of which they have a wide network, is always sought. Bazuin and De Blécourt both have travelled extensively in and outside Europe and have a thorough knowledge of museum and gallery collections and art related archives.

Who are Bazuin & de Blécourt? The two founders of this Old Master Paintings company started their professional careers in other areas than Old Master Paintings, during which they both studied Art History at the University of Amsterdam.

Ronald Bazuin MA MSc studied Art History at the University of Amsterdam and focussed on Dutch and Flemish 17th century paintings. He has a special interest in the art market of the 17th century. Ronald was previously trained as a business economist as well as a tax specialist at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. After university he joined a major West European bank at which he held various positions in corporate and investment banking for 13 years. Although advising corporate customers on financing and risk management is different from looking at an art collection, parallels cannot be denied.

Bram de Blécourt is expected to receive his master’s degree in Art History in the first quarter of 2010.  Prior to his focus on Art History Bram attended the Royal Academy of Arts in The Haque where he was trained as a graphic and typographic designer. After having spent over five years in London, where he specialised in corporate identity, he returned to Holland and worked free-lance in a broad field ranging from exhibition design to publishing. This background can be instrumental for commissions involving any form of publicity.

Bazuin & de Blécourt’s enthousiasm for Old Master Paintings, their research experience in this field, and their respective backgrounds in finance, designing and publishing are essential ingredients for the quality level of their services.

We are convinced that our approach can benefit private art collectors as well as public collections. Please feel free to discuss your next exhibition, sale or possible acquisition with us.
